Falling in love with fall, part 1
Tis the season of changing leaves, cooling temperatures, starry skies, and shaggy animals. This is when the animals seem happiest. The excitement of summer events has passed and humidity levels have dropped. Everyone enjoys napping in the warm sun rays and the cows romp about in pasture while the pigs snuggle under piles of blankets. It's a peaceful time for them while we scramble about trying to complete a long list of pre-winter projects in preparation for the inevitable promise of sub zero temps and snow storms. Amidst the endless to-do lists, there is just something about fall that feels like home; as though we can take a collective deep breath and appreciate all that we have and all the promise of days to come. It's a time of contemplation and reflection signaled by the dropping leaves.
